Joshua Oksnevad, a Ranger at Crowders Mountain State Park and Ranger Andrew Rawlings will be hosting FREE Wednesday morning interpretation and education programs at 10 AM at the Visitor's Center at the Sparrow Springs Access each week in 2019.

Events and Programs
Crowders Mountain State Park offers a variety of learning opportunities for all ages. Typically led by park rangers, these interpretive programs allow the public to gain perspective into what makes North Carolina state parks naturally wonderful. ?
Most of the events are free, though some require pre-registration. All give park visitors deeper insight into the natural world. Call the park office for more information.
A presentation describing in detail, the many owls in North Carolina, their diet, hunting style and habitat. Come learn about these unique creatures in our backyards. Age range 5+

Wildflower Walk (March Bloomers)
Take a walk with a Ranger looking for blooming wildflowers in several different ecosystems near the Visitor Center. If you have your own field guide feel free to bring it, otherwise we will briefly go over the wildflowers and we will provide several field guides to use in the field. Bring appropriate footwear and clothing as we will be outside most of the time. Age range 10+

Come learn with a Ranger how to start a campfire without matches, lighters or flammable liquids. Please wear appropriate footwear and clothing to be outside.
